A little bit about Tolleson

|
The City of Tolleson is a small, self-contained community about 10 miles west of Phoenix. It was incorporated in 1929, encompasses approximately 6 square miles, and is currently home to almost 6,000 residents. The community, as much of the Valley’s suburban developments, was once dependent on agriculture as its main industry. But, today, Tolleson has a strong commercial and industrial base, and is a significant distribution hub for companies wishing to deliver products to southwestern markets due to its excellent location off of the I-10 freeway. Tolleson is home to several large employers such as Sunland Beef, Kroger’s, Albertson’s, Salt River Project and Sysco Food Systems. In addition to distribution, the city has a strong manufacturing base.
The City of Tolleson offers its residents a variety of cultural events scheduled by the West Valley Fine Arts Council, five city parks, a community center, five lighted ball parks, and numerous lighted basketball, tennis, and racquetball courts throughout town. This city provides a unique blend of small town America, strong commercial and industrial business, and a pleasant quality of life.
